Location
The IMAX Theatre Sydney is located on the waterfront in the heart of Sydney's Darling Harbour.
Darling Harbour is a busy entertainment precinct with numberous restaurant, bars and cafes. Other attractions include Sydney Aquarium; Sydney Wildlife World; The Australian National Maritime Museum; The Chinese Gardens of Friendship and The Powerhouse Museum. Major public events take place throughout the year, including live peformances and firework displays. Whatever your tastes you will invariably find something to suit you in this busy precinct.
The IMAX Theatre has special relationships with various restaurants in the precinct, by going to the Food & Beverage page (see tab above) you can find out what special offer we are currently running.
Our distinctive building was designed by Australian architect Lionel Glendinning. Clad in aluminium with an eye catching black and yellow checker board facade, it can't be missed.

Accessible Entry
The theatre has full accessible entry. Please enter the theatre from the eastern side (the side nearest the City) and follow the Accessible Entry signs to the lift. After purchasing your ticket at the box office our staff will assist you enter the theatre via the lifts where we have accessible seating and accomodation for wheelchairs.
TRANSPORT AND PARKING

Take the TRAIN to Town Hall station and then a short walk down Druitt Street. |
The Sydney Red Explorer stops outside the theatre as part of its Sydney tour BUS. |
Take a State FERRY or Matilda Rocket to Aquarium Wharf in Darling Harbour. |

Travel by MONORAIL to Darling Park or Convention station or ride the Light Rail to Convention station. |
TAXIS can drop off in Wheat Road right on our doorstep. |
